I created this graph to celebrate the great rivalries in football.
This activity gives students practice solving systems of linear equations, plotting points and displaying their team loyalty. Students solve 30 different systems of equations to complete the list of over 80 coordinate points. Then students plot the points, connecting as they go, but only within the designated zones.
When the students are finished, they have a football helmet ready for them to draw the logo, icon or letter of their favorite football team.
Here are some tips:
Use this activity before the big Game bringing the competiveness of the sport of football to your math class.
Print out small logos of each team to be pasted onto the helmet, depending on who the students are favoring.
All points will be on one grid line or another.
A completed picture has been provided to be used as a key.
You can download my custom made FREE GRAPH PAPER from my store.
I have also found that printing graph paper directly from themathworksheetsite.com
helps out, but any graph paper will do.
Remember to copy double-sided when necessary to save paper
