This fun and informational project on Toussaint Louverture has students read a 2 page biography of the Haitian revolutionary leader and then create a comic book based on his life.

It includes a reading that highlights Toussaint Louverture's early years as a slave in Haiti through how he achieved freedom and rose to help lead the Revolution in Haiti. A two page of comic book template is included for students to draw and create their comic based off of what they read.

This makes for an excellent change up on traditional readings and questions and is fun for students that enjoy art and drawing!

An editable Google Doc version of the reading is also included along with several suggested videos and lesson plan ideas!

This product along with many, many more can also be downloaded as part of my Nationalism in Europe and Latin America Unit Plan Bundle!
