Product Description
How do I get started?
Buy some tumbling towers and paint them 5 different colours.
Print this resource, cut up the task cards and store them in small bags or envelopes.

Please note: This product contains a total of 133 task cards and is divided into 5 sections. Each section has been colour-coded, however, if these colours do not match your painted tumbling tower blocks, I have also included black and white cards that you can colour-code yourself before (or after printing). I have also included blank cards for each section. When printing, I recommend clicking on "fit to screen" before printing so that they are centered and ready to cut. I use one of those big paper cutters at school and run through a few sheets at a time.

What other materials do I need?
Each group will need a whiteboard (or sheets of paper and pencil), a whiteboard marker and a stack of fiction books. Please note: Students will NOT need tech/classroom resources to verify verb conjugation. I have included an answer key on the verb task cards.

How do my students “play”?
Organize students into small teams. (I recommend teams of two.) Each team will challenge another team to a game of tumbling towers. Students will take turns pulling a block from the tower. Each time that they pull out a block, they need to look at the colour. The student then needs to perform a task from the matching colour task card. Once they have completed it successfully, they will win a point for their team. If they do not complete it successfully, they do not win a point and the other team takes their turn.

What if I don’t have tumbling towers in my classroom?
If you do not have a tumbling tower in your classroom, you can still use these task cards! Instead of using blocks, you can cut up coloured paper or put coloured cubes in a hat and have students pull them out at random draw.

Don’t forget to share your feedback with me via Teachers Pay Teachers and via Instagram (@moonshotlearning). I would love to hear and see how you are using these task cards in your classroom!
