Are your kids as obsessed with building towers as mine are? These "Tower of Love" game mats will allow them to practice number recognition and addition skills while building the towers they love!
Featuring a fun heart theme, these game mats are perfect for Valentine's math tubs. They will allow your students to practice:
-Number Recognition: Students roll a die or spin a spinner with numerals 1-6 (you can use standard dot pattern dice, numeral dice, or even number words for an extra challenge). Using connecting cubes, students build a tower representing that number. When they build their tower, they place it onto the corresponding heart number on their board. This is a great way for young learners to develop their number sense!
-Addition: Students roll a pair of dice or spin a set of spinners with numerals 1-6. Using connecting cubes, students build a tower representing that number. When they build their tower, they place it onto the corresponding heart number on their board. This has been a good way to introduce addition to my kindergarteners, and can easily be differentiated with different dice and spinners.
Both versions come in printer-friendly black and white (to print on colored cardstock) and full color. Just print, laminate, and put in a tub with some manipulatives and you are good to go!
I hope your students enjoy it as much as mine do! Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
