PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This two day mini unit has students asking the questions, "How high did it go?" and "How long did it take?".
These activities should be assigned after students have studied key features of quadratic functions (x and y-intercepts, symmetrical aspects of a parabola, vertex, etc.). The first assignment has students create an equation for a given initial velocity and initial height. So it’s important that they know h(t) = -1/2gt2 + v0t + h0. Also, students should feel confident using the graphing calculator to graph a quadratic equation and set the WINDOW.
There are three activities (2 involve toy rockets), two warm ups, 2 homework assignments, two closure assignment and one formative assessment. And they ALL include an answer key!!
