Build Thanksgiving Vocabulary with this fun Read, Trace, Build packet for November thematic words. It includes words for Thanksgiving food, family members, objects such as table, scarecrow, Mayflower, and cabin AND animal words such as turkey, cat, dog (to use as pets or part of the family)
It is a good resource for vocabulary development and stretching out words to hear each sound in correct sequence. Upper grades can use them as weekly spelling words too.
See it in action here.
Find it in Spanish here.
Words in this packet:
*You can sort the words by family, food, animals, and objects.
*Over the next few weeks, place your focus words in a center for practice. (Make sure to model and practice before you place this activity in your center.)
*You do not have to use all of the words in this packet. Just choose the ones that you would like to use.
*At the end of your Thanksgiving study, gather all of the pages that your students used. Give them the Turkey cover to decorate.
*Staple the pages together to make a
“My Thanksgiving Words” book.
***NOTE*** I marked it as a first grade resource. I only included words with 9 letters or less.
Thank you for stopping by,
