Looking for a fun and engaging way to introduce DNA-specifically dominant and recessive genes-to your students? This is the perfect exercise that will surely excite your students when it come to the study of DNA.
Separate students into pairs, having them pull tooth picks from a paper bag. Depending on what combination of toothpicks pulled students are to decided whether the trait is dominant or recessive. Together they are tracing the traits of a person. When students finish allow them to draw/color a picture capturing the person they've created.
- A supply list of items you need
- A directions page for students
- A "Trace my Traits" record sheet
SO much fun! Enjoy! :)
