Hello! This year I've been using Reading A-Z for guided reading. Their resources are amazing and always touch on a ton of skills. To keep track of the skills and help me pick the next book for my group, I created this tracking sheet. The sheet helps me track what skills my students worked on already and what skills I should work on next. From there, I am able to pick a book based on the skill that is needed. I focused on five areas: Grammar/Word Study (27 skills listed), Phonics (8 skills listed), Comprehension (21 skills listed), Writing (6 skills listed), and Accuracy/Fix up strategies (7 skills listed). Each area has a list of skills in ABC order, a place to write the book they learned the skill from, an area for notes, and the date(s) the skill was taught. I listed the skills that came up from the levels my students were reading at, anywhere from level I to level U. I hope this helps you track your kiddos! Please leave any feedback or suggestions! I am sure you can use this with any guided reading program such as Fountas and Pinnell. Happy Tracking!
