Comparison chart with answer key- a graphic organizer to compare fables, folktales and myths

“What’s the Story on…” booklet/worksheet for folktales, fables and myths. Make a booklet by printing the pages back to back or use the
worksheet pages for students to record the definition, characteristics, and examples of each type of story as well as a “snapshot” of a specific example.

Match the Moral game- task cards with a short story and matching moral. These can be used as a center activity, memory game, or guided reading/small group practice in identifying morals.

Character Profile worksheet- Students can use this to analyze the traits of a character and support with evidence from the story.

Beginning-Outcome-Lesson organizer/essay page- A graphic organizer to help organize thoughts and story information

Compare/Contrast worksheets- Includes a Venn Diagram graphic organizer as well as scaffold essay prompts to compare two traditional literature stories and two characters by providing evidence from the story.

Storyboard Summary- Have the students draw pictures and write the main events from the beginning, middle, and end on the storyboard summary. Then they can cut out each event and glue them so the writing is on the back. Using the storyboard cards, they will practice giving a summary of the story.
