This is a short powerpoint about the differences between traditionalism versus modernism. It is a great intro into the changing times of the 1920s. I give the definitions of each and have the students write them down in their notebooks while I try to explain them more in depth. I give them examples of the generation gap and help them understand it with pictures from the 1920s and modern day pictures also. Their is a venn diagram and I have them write what the differences are between traditionalists and modernists in the 1920s and today. This only takes up half the class so I have them finish by reading the chapter that goes along with this and having them write down the vocab and definitions, or take notes or an outline or both.
