Product Description
The purpose of this activity is to give your students practice writing letters/sounds/numerals, or anything else you can think of that would work with this format. You could also use it as a "quick check" assessment for any of the skills also. You can spend just a few minutes each day “drilling” until your students are masters at whatever skill you work on. You can laminate them and use dry erase markers, or since you are only using 1/4 of a sheet of paper, you can just let them use pencils, markers, or pens. Some ways to use it are:
Say the name of a letter and have students write the letter
Say a letter sound and have students write the letter that makes it
Show an uppercase letter and have students write the lowercase letter
Show a lowercase letter and have students write the uppercase letter
Say a series of letter or vowel sounds and have students write them
Say a number and have students write the numeral
Say a number in the form of tens and ones and have students write the numeral (ex. one ten and 4 ones– students write “14”)
Write a numeral on the engine before copying and then say a number and have students write the number that is needed to make the number on the engine
Say an addition or subtraction problem and have students write the answer
I have practiced teen numbers and letter sounds with my kids and they love doing this activity. I used both versions; of course they enjoy the dry erase the most.
