This is a great activity for an introduction to a unit on Slavery, however, it could be used throughout a unit. This is a photo sequence activity where students will place 5 illustrations in the correct order. Then they will add three additional illustrations to their sequence, using photo clues to fit it into the correct order.
There is an additional activity idea included but does not have to be done with the picture sequence.
There are three parts to this activity:
1. Sequencing first the 5 and then 3 illustrations
2. Reading about the slave trade (text not included)
3. Creating a sequence chart about the reading and making a flip chart of the slave trade stages.
