Transcendentalism - Understanding and Defining It.
This one-hour lesson puts students in charge of defining transcendentalism rather than you lecturing on this topic. They get into groups of 4 students, and each student is given a QR code. They each read/view the information their QR code takes them to online and take notes on their particular source. Afterwards, students come together to compile their notes and make a comprehensive definition that starts off large and ends up being only 2 words after they continue to whittle it down. This is an engaging and challenging activity. The task can be done without using QR codes because the website lists are provided.
