This station activity is used at the end of a transformation unit. As a class, we have explored translations, reflections, rotations and dilations. The stations can be used as an opportunity for students to work collaboratively in order to discuss the problems. I encourage students to use math vocabulary as much as possible. I also take advantage of the opportunity to emphasize positive peer relationships. Students are encouraged to be good listeners and to politely offer other possible solutions if they disagree with a peer.
There are four cards for six different stations including the following: translations, reflections, rotations, dilations, transformations and vocabulary. Students are provided answer sheets with mini-graphs for corresponding problems. An answer key is included.
