Sometimes all you need is a bright, engaging activity to hook your students and kick off a lesson. I find this to be especially true in Math. I created this mini-bulletin board set and Powerpoint presentation to grab everyone’s attention and teach important transformational geometry skills.
There are two files included in this purchase:
The first is a four piece mini-bulletin board set that explains translations, reflections and rotations in simple, kid friendly language. It prints beautifully and looks especially gorgeous once you laminate it. I’ve left about a half inch blank on the right side of each page to accommodate the way most printers work. You’ll need to trim it just slightly.
The second file is a Powerpoint presentation. It includes the bulletin board set with useful and engaging animations, along with interactive quizzes and a mini lesson on clockwise and counter-clockwise rotations.
This is one of those resources that I hope you’ll use over and over again throughout your unit to help your students really master the basic concepts associated with transformational geometry.
Please download the preview file. If there is anything you’d like added or tweaked, please let me know, I’d be happy to accommodate your request. I’m a teacher in Ontario, Canada and this resource has been a real hit with my third graders. I think it would work especially well with students in grades 3-4 but would also serve as a welcome review for older kids.
It’s cute and fun and colorful and sometimes that’s all it takes to get everyone on board and excited about new concepts.
The product is downloaded as a “Powerpoint Show” and if you are using an older version (e.g. 2003) of Powerpoint, it may not display as nicely as it should. If that’s the case, please email me with proof of purchase and I’ll send you a more compatible version.
Please be advised that this resource does not include any student worksheets or practice pages. It consists of an interactive Powerpoint presentation, and a PDF version of the slideshow which be printed and used as a mini-bulletin board display.
I want you to be happy with your purchase, please ask any questions before buying this resource.
