Description
Transformations of the Absolute Value Function Lesson -
In this lesson, students cover the following topics:
• Vertical Translations and Horizontal Translations
• Vertical Stretches and Compressions
• Reflections over the x and y-axis
• Combining transformations
• Identifying transformations from a graph and equation
• Writing a function given the transformations in words
I have included TWO levels of the graphic organizer:
1 - Students create the function and then graph; given the transformations through words.
2 - Students graph; given the words and the function with transformations.
Students preview the lesson by watching a short video on YouTube and then come to class with some prior knowledge. This lesson includes a video link, a warm-up, notes and homework.
