Product Description

I have used these presentations for the past five years to teach transformations. (I do make small edits each year - these were edited September 2018)

Day 1 = Introduction to Transformations

Dat 2 = Reflections

Day 3 = Translations

Day 4 = Rotations

I usually use Google Slides or Powerpoint to show this presentation but a PDF really captures everything. (I haven't put the time in to add transitions or animations anyway.)

Day 2: Reflection slides give the definition and properties of a reflection. Sudents use patty paper to discover the line of reflection as a perpendicular bisector. Students have been assigned work on Geogebra to complete prior to class (SEE TRANSFORMATION GEOGEBRA ASSIGNMENT). Students use this data to make conjectures about the "rules" for flipping over the x-axis, y-axis, line y = x, and more. There are several extension topics on the final slides (such as "How would you use construction tools to find a line of reflection?" "How would you reflect over a line with a slope other than 1?")
