This 8 page document is used as "Guide Notes" to teach Lines of symmetry and line reflections. They are aligned with the Common Core Standards. It teaches students the properties of a reflection; what changes when a shape is reflected and what stay the same and how to recognize a reflection. The first half of the document is the blank Guided notes, while the second half is the answer key with the blanks and examples filled in. I have used Guided Notes for 12 years and my students find them extremely beneficial. Every student receives a blank copy and I work through the notes with the class. This allows the teacher the ability to work through some examples with the class; the students can work on the examples independently or as group work. The Guided Notes allow for a lot of flexibility. I also have a homework sheet that can be used in conjunction with these notes. It is titled "Lines of symmetry and line reflections homework".
