In this activity, students graph two images and pre-images for the four types of tranformations - translations, rotations, reflections, and dilations.
Each worksheet has a problem set A and B, which have different pre-images, but the same image.
Once complete, students partner up and compare graphs. Even though they had a different pre-image, their images (and corresponding points) should be in the same location.
This activity encourages students to collaborate and discuss problems. If students come up with different locations, they can work together to figure out who is correct.
It can be done as a culminating review, or students can complete one as each new transformation is introduced or practiced.
Answer keys and detailed directions are included.
