This activity is a play on the game telephone using transformations.

How do I implement this activity?

For this activity students are broken into groups of 4 or less. Each group member receives a different paper. On each paper is a shape with four directions for how that shape will be translated, reflected and dilated. Each person will complete the first direction on their paper resulting in an image of the original. After the first set of directions is completed by all members in the group, everyone will rotate papers, check the new image, and complete the 2nd set of directions from the image that was created in the previous step. Students will continue to pass around their pages until all 4 directions have been completed. Students will then self-check with the key provided and make adjustments as needed.

4 answer keys- These are designed to be printed out on transparencies so students can overlay them on their worksheet at the end for self-checking.

Approximately 30-45 minutes.
