In this color-coded visual, the equation of a function described by y = f(x) is changed to get the equation of a transformed function, g(x). All the transformations are identified (horizontal and vertical shifts, reflections, and horizontal and vertical stretches and shrinks), along with a verbal description of what happens to the x- and y- coordinates with each transformation. The chart also explains in what order transformations should occur when there are multiple transformations. An example is provided with the chart. My students place this in their notebooks after we have discussed each transformation separately.
