Product Description
This product is included "FREE" in my Transition plans product Transition Plan Workbook and the Bundled Transition Plans Product Bundled Read/No Read Transition Plan Workbook and Job Interest Inventory

Created for special education students. This product is an introduction/overview for students with transition plans in the domain of "Independent Living." As it's just an overview, it does not go into "how" to get an apartment; "how" to balance a checkbook; "how" to go on a date; "how" to react to a medical emergency; "how" to get a pet; or, "how" to keep a budget, etc. Instead, it plants the seeds for students (and their teachers) for "what" the student might wish to accomplish in this area. If you want a bundle of specific social stories for older students please look here: Transition Age Students Social Stories Bundle and if you are looking for social skills products for younger students, please look at my Mega Rescue Dogs' Social Skills Bundle here: Rescue Dog's Series Mega Bundle Social Skills

It has a very basic word wall, a ten T/F question quiz (all the answers are "TRUE"), and a discussion/worksheet page for each question. Use this after you have given the student some type of transition plan/vocational interest survey to see where they want to go in this domain (as "Independent Living" covers so many different things that are necessary for our students to have a high quality of life after they leave our program).

When you finish this packet, you will take the information and see what you need to target in on and teach for the domain of "Independent Living" in the student's transition plan.

Make sure you have some type of Transition Portfolio where the student can keep all of these documents, which are proof that the student has been afforded a legally defensible transition plan - I offer a free one for older students here: End Of The Year Memory Book And Transition Folder and younger students here:Rescue Dogs' Social Skills IEP Folder .

Also, remember to keep a copy for yourself for at least three years after the student graduates (in case any questions come up from the state and your part in writing this student a successful transition plan).

Happy Transition Plan Writing, Implementing and Data Collecting!
