Are you finding it hard to teach your students how to write a good transition statement? Are you tired of finding simple lists of transitions that don't truly help your students use them appropriately? I was! That is why I created this transition guide to help my students write several different types of transition statements.
The guide includes step by step instructions on how to write each type of transition as well as plenty of examples and areas to practice their new skill!
I used this guide after my students had researched a natural disaster (but any topic will work nicely) and before they actually started drafting. This way, their transitions were built-in to their draft!
As I led them through the packet, I had them look closely at the example sentences and circle the main ideas that each transition was trying to connect.
