Transition Talk is a flip card resource for teachers to capitalize on lost instructional time while children wait in line for lunch, the bathroom or the many other transitions that occur throughout the day. These activities address language and critical thinking skills which impacts literacy and academic success. Volume 3 is the second volume working on categories. Categorization works on skills in Bloom's Revised Taxonomy levels of Remembering , Understanding, Applying and Analyzing. Some of the many skills children are able to work on are vocabulary, describing, whole/part relations and organization. This set includes lower level basic categories such as Shapes, Food, Toys, as well as higher level abstract categories such as Sticky Things and Things that Light Up. Cards are shown in color (red/black), however will also print nicely in gray scale. Once printed, cards are to be laminated, cut, and put on a ring. Cards are then ready for teachers to grab on their way out the door to make the most of time usually lost during transitions. These sets are also great for parents to use while driving, waiting at the doctor, or even to keep them busy while shopping.
