Are your special education students between the ages of 14-21 and looking into their postsecondary futures? Look no further, Transition Times! is here!
This comic explores the major themes of special education transition: employment, future planning, self-advocacy, independent living and social skills using a person-centered approach (PATH). It follows the Planning Meeting for a student named Lily, a teen living with ASD.
Please bear in mind this resource was created as a graduate school project. Parts of it share dense information relating to special education law and planning that better suits parents/educators, with a particular focus on my state's (NJ) laws and options. It was generated using Bitstrips for Education for comics, which no longer is in service. Because of this, some of the images are not in the clearest quality as I have upgraded tech resources.
