This anchor chart is a great one to give to students to use as a reference while they are learning about transitional words in their writing.
This is NOT an in depth list of transitional words. This is for your basic first or second grader.
My students that are having trouble using transitional words just focus on the large words in the middle (these are the only ones I want to see on their papers right now.) My students who have the "hang of" transitional words are allowed to explore and use the words on the outside of the frame as well as the middle words. My students who are rolling with transitional words can come up with their own transitional words or research some more on their own to create a more in depth list. Therefore, this anchor chart allows for differenciation within the lesson.
My students put this anchor chart in a page protector to keep at the front of their binders. I hope you can use it!
