### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This fun coloring sheet has 20 verbal phrases to match with algebraic expressions. Your students will love practicing their algebra skills in anticipation to coloring the cool picture. Unlike many matching activities, students will be challenged with these expressions because they all contain only the numbers 2, 6 and the variable n. No guessing here. Enjoy!

This activity addresses the Common Core Standards 5.OA.A.2 and 6.EE.A.2., but may also be relevant to other grade levels depending on your district's curriculum.

CCSS.Math.Content.5.OA.A.2
Write simple expressions that record calculations with numbers, and interpret numerical expressions without evaluating them. For example, express the calculation "add 8 and 7, then multiply by 2" as 2 × (8 + 7).
CCSS.Math.Content.6.EE.A.2
Write, read, and evaluate expressions in which letters stand for numbers.
CCSS.Math.Content.6.EE.A.2.a
Write expressions that record operations with numbers and with letters standing for numbers. For example, express the calculation "Subtract y from 5" as 5 - y.
CCSS.Math.Content.6.EE.A.2.b
Identify parts of an expression using mathematical terms (sum, term, product, factor, quotient, coefficient); view one or more parts of an expression as a single entity. For example, describe the expression 2 (8 + 7) as a product of two factors; view (8 + 7) as both a single entity and a sum of two terms.
