The first week of school I like to create interactive graphs with my class to get them up and talking. This really helps break the ice in our classroom and get to know each other!
Included in this First Day Transportation Packet:
*How Did You Come to School Today? Booklet- print out the colored pages and staple to create a class read aloud. You could also bind the pages and display the book in your own classroom library for students to enjoy reading independently.
*How Did You Come to School Today? Coloring Book-print off and run front to back to allow kids to have their own booklet to color and keep to take home. This make a great independent activity to keep the little ones busy on the first day of school!
*Printable Graph Title and Pictures-give each student their own picture to create a class picture graph.
*Class Transportation Bar Graph Printable- this would be perfect to create in a "poster size" and make it interactive with the whole class. You could also distribute one to each student and they can color in the bars with you.
*Class Transportation Tally Chart and Data Questions
*Higher Order Thinking Extension
*Transportation Circles- put your students names on a clothes pin. Print out the transportation circles and hot glue to a ribbon. Attach clothes pins to the method of transportation the students take home each day. Hang by the door for a quick reference each afternoon at dismissal.
