Developmentally appropriate Transportation literacy centers for the preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten classroom! This resource is perfect for all developmental and cognitive levels of early childhood. The centers are fun, engaging, and offer challenges and reinforcement of basic skills.
This resource is set up with 3 levels of developmentally appropriate Beginning Sounds and Letter centers for the early childhood classroom. Every class is different, every student is different, so this resource gives you the option of starting out slowly, building on what your students know, and offering a challenge as skills are mastered.
Level 1: Letter & Sound Match Submarines
This beginning level will allow students to use their knowledge of upper and lowercase letters to assist them in completing the center beginning sound picture. This will help you to introduce and emphasize the beginning sound of each letter.
Level 2: Letters & Sounds 2-Part Puzzles
This center activity builds on the level 1 activity. Each self-correcting puzzle has a letter on one part of the puzzle and a beginning sound picture on the connecting piece. The puzzles are self-correcting-the only solution is to find the correct beginning sound picture for each letter!
Level 3: Letters & Sounds Bingo
This activity builds on the first two, but adds the element of finding a beginning sound picture for the letters in an array of many beginning sounds pictures. This can be really challenging for a beginner, so make sure you save this center for a time when beginning sounds are well established! We want the centers to be challenging, but the students must also feel successful or they will give up and not enjoy the activity!
Kids this age love things that GO! Make this your best unit yet!
