Students will love this artistic math lesson using tessellations!
This lesson includes a warm-up where students use coordinates to plot out shapes. Students then create their own tessellation posters while learning that a two-dimensional figure is congruent to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, and translations. Finally, students create geometric tessellations using coordinate points and test their congruence.
