Uh oh! Some naughty turkeys have escaped and this farm needs your help to get them back.
In this perimeter task, students will work together to read and follow the clues on task cards. They will design enclosures for the turkeys based on the information on the cards. Some are more open-ended than others, but all require students to use what they know about polygons and perimeter to solve the problem. Kids can use unifix cubes or square tiles *first* to build the enclosures before drawing a model of each enclosure on their recording sheets.
In the end, students will compose a "tweet" to let the farm know they've captured all of their turkeys. Each student will also choose their favorite turkey to trap and illustrate/ label their model for the image attached to their "tweet."
