Do your students have trouble remembering the characteristics of the different quadrilaterals? How about focusing on trapezoids and rhombuses for one whole month! My students know the characteristics of these two quadrilaterals so much better because I use these cards as part of my Calendar Math time. Each day of the month we spend a few moments each day in the month and we talk about the shapes and various characteristics. They have to tell me that they have 1 or 2 pair of parallel sides. I also draw other examples that are not typical on the board and we discuss why these are also rhombuses or trapezoids. These cards are designed to use with a calendar math program. The use an ABAB pattern of trapezoids and rhombuses. I use them with my paw print number cards, multiple markers, and other calendar math calendar pieces.
