This template can be used when teaching my town that is customized to things that students like in their county/ town.
If a new student all the way from Africa came to our classroom at____________________, make a travel guide brochure that includes important people and settler and places in their County for the new student.
Students will create a Travel guide brochure that includes important people and settler and places in their County with 100% accuracy which will be graded by a rubric.
1.The front cover of their travel guide is will be about their community. They will answer the following questions. My county is___. My State is ___. My County is___. My city is___.
2. One flap will be about individuals who had a positive impact on the local community. Students will answer the question “Who is our county named after?” Then students will pick one individual who had a positive impact on the local community and state why. Student can refer to the Go Fish game.
3.Second flap will be about one park from the ______ County Map. The student will write the name of the park. Then the student will need to write at least one sentence about the location of the park, why they like the park, or a memory of the park.
4.The Third flap will be a historical place in _______l. The student will name the historical place, draw a picture, and write at least one sentence about it.
5.The Fourth flap will be about one place in ___________ County. Students will name the place, draw a picture, and write at least one sentence about it.
6.The last flap will be an area where the student will add three other places to visit from the ______ County Map or City places. The student will just need to write the name, but they may also draw a picture.
