This is a smartboard lesson for teaching how seeds travel or disperse from the original plant. There is a worksheet packet that goes along with this for the group activity that is included in this lesson. It is included in this file as a PDF. My students really enjoyed this lesson and the small group activity that goes with it.
You will need some supplies for this activity such as the seeds that are outlined in the lesson. You will need sunflower seeds that are still in the shell for the opening activity. Others I found just outside of my home (acorn, maple tree seed (helicopter), a burr type of seed (for hitchhiker travel), rose hips, pine cone, and gold rod that has gone to seed. You will also need a few samples of fur (which can be used to test the hitchhiker theory) and a tub of water to test for water travel.
