‘Treasure Hunt!' is the perfect addition to your collection of math games. Children take turns rolling a die (or cut apart the templates and slip them into a pocket die)--choose numerals, number words or pictures. After each roll, children add treasures to their treasure chest. Watch out for the telescope! If this appears 1 treasure must be taken out. A Pirate Ship is even worse news - all treasures must be emptied from the treasure chest if it is rolled. The first player with 10 bugs in their jar is the winner!
For more advanced students, or for an added challenge, use two dice and add the two numbers together.
Easy to prepare and lots of fun to play, ‘Treasure Hunt!' combines counting practice with numeral recognition and even works on simple addition and subtraction concepts.
Just print today and play tomorrow. Simply add plastic treasures/jewelry found at the dollar store (or print the pictures provided) for a hands on game.
As a bonus, I have included a black and white, printer friendly version of all of the pages.
This game is perfect for your math centers or as an ‘Early Finisher' activity, as well as an enrichment activity to supplement Engage NY / Eureka Math program.
