An interactive and partially out-of-your seat activity!
This activity really spices up a Thursday or Friday afternoon. By this time of the week it’s super difficult to keep students engaged short of pulling a rabbit out of a hat. This activity aims to keep a smile on their faces and some fun in their hearts.
In this activity you will have students engage in a treasure hunt. You can go over the top if you so desire and have everybody become a pirate. Of course you can modify this activity for whichever age group you teach. I did this with my college-aged students and they loved it--but I didn't do the whole pirate spiel. That wouldn't fly. This activity is easy to modify to fit your needs. Get creative--hey--we're teachers!
Amidst all the excitement this activity involves a writing assignment that focuses on the prepositions of place grammar. Buy and see, you won't be disappointed! This downloadable zip file includes step by step clear as day instructions for you, a new powerpoint for preteaching vocabulary, and a handy handout for your students.
Work smarter, not harder.
