In this Treasure Hunt Number Grid Game, the students use the hand lens to look at the treasure map (they should be able to read the word START). The students place their pirate on the treasure map. The first student rolls the die and moves that number of spaces. If they land on a picture, they use the hand lens to read the text and follow the text. Example +2 or -10. The next player then takes a turn rolling the die and moving their pirate. The player that reaches the treasure first is the winner.
There are two versions of the game boards. The first one has color. The colors match the next row to help the students move from row to row. The second game board has no color, so that the students can practice without support. You can print the game boards double-sided so that the students can choose.
