This is a game intended for high-volume elicitation of target speech sounds by elementary-aged kids. Students search for their opponent's treasure by calling out coordinates (e.g., cat, kite) on the treasure map grid. With a 4x4 grid of each target sound, therapists can expect up to 32 elicitations during each round, while students are actively engaged in a fun game! Game play can advance quickly with motivated players, and multiple rounds may be played in a given therapy session.
This pack includes separate boards for initial /k/ and initial /g/ sounds, as well as cover images, treasure chests, and X's for game play. Additional materials needed are file folders, laminate, and a method of sticking pieces to vertical surfaces (tape, Velcro, putty, etc.).
