READ FIRST: These pages are intended for use as companion pages for first grade decodable readers from Macmillan McGraw-Hill’s Treasures (2011) Reading Program. The decodable readers are NOT included.
Word Hunts and Comprehension Check pages are a great way to engage your students.
This activity is great for use in the classroom as a workstation activity or sent home with each decodable reader as a homework assignment.
After reading a decodable reader, students use these sheets to "hunt" for and record words with a given sound/spelling. There is a word hunt page for each decodable reader, which states the name of the reader and the sound/spelling being focused on. Unit and week numbers are also included.
Additionally, a comprehension check page is included for each decodable with two questions per story.
Challenge your students to find all of the words!
