(1.) Massacre of the Jews of Mainz. Albert of Aix-la-Chapelle, 1096.

(2.) A Decree by Pope Innocent III, The Fourth Lateran Council. Innocent III, 1198-1216.

(3.) The Libel of Ritual Murder. English Chronicler, 1168.

(4.) Expulsion of the Jews from France. French chronicler, 1182.

Each document has 1-4 questions each to help students analyze the sources and understand the time period. (Total Questions 16.)

Finally a short writing questions is presented to students;

Applying information from one text to another, citing when appropriate, answer the following writing prompt; what harassments and abuses were Jews likely to suffer in late medieval society? Be sure to cite specific evidence from the text to support your response.
