This set can be used for game play, review, extra practice, and what ever else your creative mind can think of. I like to use it to have students play a basketball game against each other. The last slide can be printed off and laminated to use as an answer board or whiteboards can be used. I typically play front row versus back row, or sometimes boys versus girls. This allows for two students to compete at a time and allows me to assess which students are understanding the concept. I can record a simple assessment of the students who understand the concept and use these students later to help their peers. To play the game I use a Nerf basketball hoop that can be picked up at Amazon. Each student sits with the laminated answer board from the last slide or a dry erase board to write their answers on. I display an image from the PowerPoint on the board and off we go! The student who gives the correct answer first receives a point for their team and they get to step up to the hoop (I usually put a free throw line on the floor with tape) and shoot the basketball to earn a possible second point for their team. If they miss, then they still keep the single point for answering correctly first. As an extension, check out my flashcard set which can be used in center-based learning. Have Fun and Play On!
