Here is a great project used to assess or build on students understanding of combinations using tree diagrams. Included are 5 menus from various fast food restaurants, 3 differentiated worksheets, a poster on tree diagrams, and Quick Print project labels!
Using the menu they have selected, students will create a tree diagram showing the various meal combinations that can be purchased at their particular restaurant. The worksheets allow for students to pre-plan their diagram before being given the quick print sheet for labeling and a sheet of construction paper on which to create their tree diagram! The worksheets are differentiated with selections for high, average, and low learners.
