Are you looking for fun science activities to teach preschool and kindergarten kids about trees? This nature walk takes children outdoors so they can learn about trees through observation and discovery and provides preschool and kindergarten teachers with complete science lesson plans and activities to use before, during, and after the walk.
The Wonder Walks series was designed to pair outdoor learning with preschool and kindergarten science curriculum and standards and to support teachers in taking young children on guided nature walks. Each walk has a specific science focus (i.e. What are the parts of a tree?) that preschool and kindergarten children can explore throughout the nature walk.
With this walk, children visit 4 different trees and are invited to "stop and sketch" different parts of the tree including the roots, trunk, branches, and leaves.
