This outdoor activity will help students understand the importance of trees in absorbing CO2 and fighting climate change. The students will observe trees and collect data on the school campus and calculate how much CO2 these trees can absorb in 1 year. They will learn that older trees absorb more CO2 and that also we need about 17 trees to absorb CO2 produced by 1 car in 1 year.
