Your students will be taking on the role of Civil Servants in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Their job is to manage a piece of land in the forested Foothills of East Kananaskis Country that has been designated as mixed use. Students will be working in small teams to create a Sustainable Forest Management Plan for their forest as they complete activities, discuss and debate, modify maps while keeping sustainability at the forefront of their decision-making.
Question of Inquiry: Can your team make informed land management decisions that balance the health and sustainability of the forest ecosystem with human values, use and development?
