This is a fun way to identify attributes of triangles. There is an assortment of triangles (2 of each type) to distribute to the kids. They will identify attributes of their triangle and identify the name of their triangle (right, acute, obtuse). Then they decorate it and turn it into a little triangle man or woman. For Halloween time, I have them decorate them in a costume and add a hat. For Thanksgiving time, you can have them add feathers and dress them as turkeys, for Christmas time, they can decorate them as little Christmas trees.
As a closure, you can have them sort the triangles into three categories: acute, obtuse, and right.
Classify two-dimensional figures based on the presence or absence of parallel or perpendicular lines, or the presence or absence of angles of a specified size. Recognize right triangles as a category, and identify right triangles.
