With this Smartboard File, students will practice the geometric properties of triangles and quadrilaterals through constructing their own. They will also be forced to think critically since they must classify shapes not only by giving them the name that best fits, but also listing or drawing a variety of different shapes that apply. For example, the students will comprehend how a square is also a rectangle, a rhombus, a parallelogram and a quadrilateral. They will learn how different trapezoids can look. It's great practice after students have already learned the basics of triangles and quadrilaterals. Take a look at my Polygon Sorting activity for a great introduction to your Geometry unit!
