Students need exposure and effective practice to gain an understanding of this sometimes overwhelming vocabulary. This Google Slides® resource provides practice with triangles.

WHY USE THIS GOOGLE SLIDES RESOURCE FOR TRIANGLES?

This digital math resource for Google Slides® gives students an opportunity to practice while reinforcing the geometry vocabulary for understanding triangles. This digital notebook for geometry includes Google Slides® for the equilateral triangle, isosceles triangle, scalene triangle, right triangle, obtuse triangle, and acute triangle. The students practice identifying these geometry forms while then applying what they’ve learned to solve problems. This Google Slides® resource is meant to complement your geometry lessons.

HOW IT WORKS

• Assign the Google Slides® file to students via email or Google Classroom®.
• Then the students interact with the slides.
• Some slides feature an embedded animation which reinforces the attributes of each type of triangle.
• Then the student works on different sections.

• THE SECTIONS INCLUDE
• Introduction to Triangles (important attributes and vocabulary)
• Explore Triangles (equilateral triangle, isosceles triangle, scalene triangle, right triangle, acute triangle, and obtuse triangle)
• Practice With Triangles (use what was learned to solve problems, riddles, error analysis and creating with triangles)

• These three sections make for a total of 24 slides.
• The triangles are categorized by the number of equal sides or types of angles.
• On the slides, the students interact with the slide by either entering text or using the Google Slides® draw tools.
• There are two support "Tech Tip" slides to show the student how to use the Google Slides® draw tools for lines and shapes.

SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS

• The Instructions for Use slide give detailed directions on how to work with the Interactive Digital Notebook.
• All the slides provide more instructions and more information to the student in the SPEAKER NOTES section of each slide
• There is one slide that is a mini-glossary of four important and key vocabulary terms necessary for understanding triangles.
• In addition to the SPEAKER NOTES, the ANIMATED SLIDES have WEBSITE and VIDEO links to support student understanding of the types of triangles. The website is kid-friendly, trusted and reliable.

The video is a link shared through safeshare.tv for kid-friendly viewing. Please make sure your district/school/classroom has access to SafeShare or YouTube.
