Students will be asked to compare weights of "bags" full of Halloween candy. The bags are labeled with weights described by decimal amounts. Some decimals amounts will need to be calculated by multiplying number of bags by decimal weights per bag as shown. A fun Halloween twist on comparing and multiplying decimals, this product aligns with several 5th grade Common Core standards pertaining to decimals (with some real-world trick-or-treating experience thrown in). Which bag would your costumed self rather take home? Trick or treat decimals could be used as a fun Math bulletin board, as station work, or a bell ringer a page at a time, and also makes a great 6th grade review. Enjoy!
