It's that time of year!! Halloween is coming and these owls all dressed up in their costumes are ready to trick or treat!
This simple but fun game is designed for your short articulation or fluency sessions (5-10 minutes) although it can also be used for longer sessions, too. In fact, it can be used for any skill that students need a little motivation to complete!
Just set a timer and begin drilling any skill (completing math facts, reading sight words, answering questions, saying articulation targets, using fluency strategies, etc. After your student says completes the given task to your liking (3 times, 5 times, etc) allow him/her to pick a card. If it’s a TRICK OR TREAT card he/she gets to keep it. If it’s one of the wild cards, follow the directions on the card. When the timer rings, the child with the most TRICK OR TREAT cards wins! This game is particularly perfect for working on /r/ blends, /k/, and /t/.
As an alternate way to play (that incorporates spontaneous connected speech), challenge students to describe or make a sentence about the owl they pick while using their best speech.
* 25 colorful little trick or treater cards (owl style) and 5 wild cards
* Halloween themed list of targets sorted by phoneme. It should be noted that this list of targets is different from the other Halloween quick drill lists.
Just print, cut, & play (laminate for durability). No wasted paper
